Privacy policy
Last updated: 7 November 2026
This policy explains how Best Paper Help ("we", "us") collects and uses personal information when you visit this website, follow or message us on social media, or use our proofreading, editing, referencing-check and research-guidance services. We follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Information we collect
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, social media username, phone number or email address, when you submit our enquiry form or message us on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or another channel.
- Details about your request, such as the type of work, word count, deadline and referencing style.
- Documents you send us so we can review them, and our comments on them.
- Payment records needed for our accounts (we do not store full card details; payments are handled by the payment provider you use).
This website uses Tawk.to for live chat. The chat widget uses cookies and local storage to support chat sessions and visitor recognition. Tawk.to processes chat messages, details you provide and technical visitor information to provide the service. See Tawk.to’s privacy policy and cookie information. When you open the site, we receive a simple visit alert showing the page you opened, the website that linked you here (if any), your approximate country and your device type. It does not include your name, IP address or anything that identifies you, and we don't store it in a database. If you use live chat, your conversation is handled through Tawk.to. If you contact us on Instagram, Meta’s privacy policy also applies. Our website host may keep basic server logs (such as IP addresses) for security.
Our enquiry form collects your name, email address, requested service, optional deadline, message and permission to store your details and reply. Our website host, Cloudflare, processes the form submissions for us, and we keep enquiries in our private lead tracker to respond and follow up.
2. How we use your information
- To reply to your messages, prepare quotes and provide the service you ask for (contract, or steps you ask us to take before a contract).
- To keep simple business records and meet legal and tax obligations (legal obligation).
- To follow up on an enquiry you started, for example to check you received a quote (legitimate interests). We do not send unsolicited marketing messages.
3. Automated replies
When you send us a direct message, the first replies may be automated. They collect the details we need for a quote and then hand the conversation to a member of our team. You can ask for a person at any time.
4. Social media and our tools
We use our own internal tools, connected to our own Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok accounts through the platforms' official APIs, to publish our content and to read and reply to messages people send to us. These tools only access our own accounts and the messages sent to them. We do not collect, sell or share data about other users. Each platform's own privacy policy also applies when you use it.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell your information. We only share it with service providers we rely on to run the business (for example messaging platforms, email and file-storage providers, website hosting and payment providers), and where the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
- Documents you send for review: deleted within 90 days of completing the work, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Enquiries that don't go ahead: deleted within 12 months.
- Business and payment records: kept for as long as the law requires (usually 6 years in the UK).
7. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy of it. To do so, message us using any of the contact options below. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
